Scott Petersohn: Highlight of My Day


I am retired now after a 40 year career in lifesaving, Law Enforcement and EMS. My last position was Deputy Chief of Operations with the Volusia County Beach Patrol.

I started CFPO about 14 months ago.

My daughter Hallie started CrossFit after her college swimming career ended. She started CrossFit in Baton Rouge Louisiana and when she moved back home she got in with CFPO. She’s the one that got me interested in CrossFit.

I was intimidated as hell at first, I lifted weights back in the 1980’s but nothing like CrossFit. My impression has changed 100%. Going to CFPO now is the highlight of my day. Very friendly people and knowledgeable coaches, group training, and everyone cheer each other on, I really like it.

15109579_703528286464851_7015926380887913621_nMy biggest accomplishment is staying with the program and making gains, being able to modify work outs to work around my old injuries. And finally being able to RX  some of the work outs.

Future accomplishments would be maybe someday competing in a CrossFit masters competition.  Bar or ring muscle up?!?!

My favorite exercises are the body weight work outs. Pull up, push-ups, rowing, assault bike, mainly aerobic stuff.img_8280

Best thing about CFPO are the people. I have only been training at CFPO a short time but I have seen people overcome their fears and make great gains in fitness and confidence (me being one of them). To see someone do something that they once thought was impossible inspires me and everyone else. The CFPO coaching staff is friendly, encouraging and motivating. They take the time to work with clients regardless of their individual abilities, all and all a really great group of people.
