KIDS & TEENS
CFPO Junior Varsity
Junior Varsity uses a combination of calisthenics, running, rowing, jumping, throwing, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing and lifting (the stuff we all used to call ‘play,’) we are getting children to fall in LOVE with “exercise.”
We use age-appropriate skills, challenges, and loads. We challenge kids in a fun and progressive way. In addition to learning new physical skills, you will notice your child makes better food choices, has greater confidence in themselves and their abilities, is more focused in school, transitions to new sports more easily, and has a reduced risk of sport-related injury.
Our groups produce athletes – even youth athletes- that have a wide skillset; are excellent at everything without specializing at a particular sport.
Our class will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:15pm.
How are we going to do this?
We have created a level system or “belt system” to reward excellence in movement. Not speed, not strength, but proficiency.
The youth in our programs will be able to move through a progression system by mastering different skills and being able to complete a variety of tasks. When all tasks in one level are accomplished they move to the next level of skill related tasks.
CFPO Varsity: Ages 13-15
CFPO Varsity combines age appropriate weightlifting and gymnastics with high intensity training to deliver optimal fitness and performance, as well as establish a lifetime love of fitness. Proper weightlifting techniques are taught, under the watchful eye of our trainers, to enhance strength and power, while also focusing on basic gymnastics to increase agility and flexibility.
We aim to boost self-esteem and confidence in our teens. We want to give them strength, both physically and mentally, to tackle any obstacle thrown their way inside or outside of the gym. With workouts that are scalable for all individuals, CFPO Varsity can benefit the established athlete as well as the less experienced individual.
If your teenager is already an athlete, our program is designed to take them to the next level by teaching proper movement mechanics, nutrition and recovery. CFPO Varsity is ideal for any athlete looking to get an edge on the competition in their given sport. Our program is diverse. Most Teen programs focus on their specific sport which can lead to overuse injuries. Our program will develop strengths disassociated with their sport. We aim to create an all-around athlete that will excel at any sport or physical task thrown their way.
If your teen is not an athlete, our program is designed to help them establish healthy lifestyle habits, and convert them from a sedentary lifestyle to a more active, prolific one. Our primary goals are to convey the notion that fitness can be fun, and help these teens develop a positive self-image. We are committed to helping them understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise. We want the teens in our program to develop a positive body image, improve cognitive function, protect them against injury by teaching proper body mechanics, and create a community of like-minded, confident individuals. CrossFit not only teaches one how to work out, it teaches the essence of focus, perseverance, dedication, and motivation.
